THE GUIDING PRINCIPLE ~ online launch

Thursday, January 28, 2010

It is now time to release my new book, The Guiding Principle into the world. Writing the book felt like an act of love - gratitude for this human life. Gratitude for the seeing of this life as a miracle, and gratitude for being gifted the words to share the possibility of such wonder with others. My only wish for the book is that upon reading it you will be open to looking at your experience of life from a new and beautiful viewpoint, and the constant hum of fear and tension which sits in background of our human experience of life will gently dissolve.

TRUE POWER

Tuesday, December 1, 2009

Those with true power have no power. Yes it sounds like a complete contradiction, but let me explain.

How can we walk this world with true power, not the sorry excuse for power that we are sold by governments and the media?

Power is found when you connect with your own true nature: living with truth and passion right by your side. Living with the possibility of failure and disappointment right by your side.

True power is when you have nothing to hide, when nothing is your enemy because you see clearly that everything that appears in this world is in fact inviting you to recognise your greatest truth. This doesn’t mean that you are undefended; instead it means that you are in fact invincible. Living your truth in each moment with an open heart – the willingness to venture into the shadows with an open heart – is the true meaning of power.

But here’s the thing… to walk this world with true power means that you know - not intellectually - but you know, from the deepest part of your being, that you possess no power of your own. You have surrendered all your perceived power to the Great Mystery of life – to Nature. You know that your nature and everything that appears in your experience is granted life through ‘Grace’.

When you have no power – when you have surrendered your power over to the good of all – you step into the wonderful paradox: you become powerful. You see that there is never anything to lose or gain in this manifest world. You fall in love with this world with all its sadness and pain. You fall in love with those who appear to want to destroy you. And you fall in love with your own death. You die to the old separate self and live immersed in the miraculous connection of all.

To live this way is a deep meditation. I’m not for one second saying it’s easy. It is life lived as a meditation. There will be good days and bad days. You have to want to be free of all that isn’t true. This is the first step: to desire to be free of what is not true for you. Next comes the desire for all humans to be free of what isn’t true.

And yet, once you have tasted the delicious possibility of freedom, there is no longer any choice. Surrender into the flow of the unknown, the unknowable is the only thing you can do.

Step by step we move on. There is no rush: we have the rest of eternity :)

Blessings

Thank you

Saturday, November 21, 2009

As we approach the end of 2009, I wanted to get in early and take the opportunity to say thank you so much for being part of my life.

I know for many 2009, has been a very challenging year. It seems as if the forces attracting us towards our greatest truth are definitely increasing. And as we travel into the unknown and face each challenge we also become ripe to receive the gifts and insights they contain.

However it’s often difficult to see how our transformations will unfold. We may feel that we are shrinking in wisdom when in fact we are growing. New possibilities mysteriously emerge from what on the surface appear to be terrible mistakes. And new levels of spiritual integration and joy blossom out of times of bleak despair and doubt. As we continue on our path, the one thing that we can be sure of is that we are mostly unsure. Also we come to realise that life doesn’t wait until we’re ready before moving us forward.

This has also been a very challenging time for me. Even with all the years (over 20!!) of studying shamanism, healing, personal development and countless transformational practices, the past year has brought tremendous tests. At times I couldn’t see the way ahead and wondered what on earth I was doing. On several occasions I’ve questioned whether I’ve actually learnt anything of value for all my efforts.

There is a certain arrogance is claiming to know anything and put oneself forward as a teacher. However, the good thing about offering insights and wisdom is that the Universe has a great sense of humour. At some point – normally sooner rather than later - any teacher claiming to offer something worth knowing will be tested. As a result of these tests, I have come to understand that humility, not recognition or money, is in fact the true gift and purpose of teaching.

I realise how many amazing things I learn from all the people I come into contact with. I see more clearly than ever just how miraculous and courageous we all are – no matter what our circumstances and beliefs.
I would like to give deep blessings and gratitude to everyone who has connected with me this last year – be it reading my daily mantras, listening to audios, or attending talks, workshops and programs. Thank you for your contribution and valuable sharings!

May 2010 bring you a deeper sense of wonder and possibility. And may all the gifts in your challenges be fully revealed.

Fortunately my challenges of the past year or so have now become a radiant gift in the form of a new book I’ve just finished called, ‘The Guiding Principle ~ one simple truth that reveals the miracle of your life’. This whole book adventure started quite innocently at a talk I gave a few months ago, where I shared what had transpired as a result of navigating through difficulties and despair.
I’m immensely grateful to all the people that have encouraged me to share this material. I would like to thank everyone that’s worked with the ideas I’ve formulated and given me such valuable feedback as to what really works. Because of your generosity, I know this material will make a difference to many more people.

As I write this broadcast, I have the first printers proof sitting next to me. I’m waiting for the Audio CD to arrive any day now. This is a very significant celebration for me and I feel deeply blessed to have the opportunity to share it with you.
I’ll keep you posted and let you know as soon as they are released. I’m already putting together a program of talks, workshops and retreats for 2010, based on these new insights and ways of opening people to the miraculous quality of life. I hope our paths cross on one of these events.

Transform the Energy of Money

Sunday, July 26, 2009

Last Thursday I was interviewed on Damien Senn's superb online radio show, People You Should Meet. The interview was called 'Transform the Energy of Money'.
It turned out to be the most listened to show ever and a subject that stirred deep emotions in people.
In the interview I shared how to bring about a radical transformation in how you can create money and how you can transform every single penny that comes your way into a powerful energy pattern for love and true abundance.

If you didn't get a chance to tune in on the night you can now listen to a recording of the interview by clicking the link below. Please let me know your thoughts by leaving a comment.

The Brilliant Flame of Truth - spontaneous words

Wednesday, April 1, 2009

Everything is in service of the realisation of yourself.

When things get tough it’s easy to see the Universe as vindictive. But when we question that assumption it can become clear that everything is our teacher.

We discover that the Universe is corrective: it loves us so much that it is always offering us the chance to awaken to our own wonder.

Every experience and every situation is a sacred path to our own discovery… if we allow it to be of course.

We are rarely thankful for wisdom that points to our own radiance. This is because focusing on ‘who we are not’ is very attractive to the mind – very enticing.

And yet a clear mind – a mind focused on it’s own freedom - can accommodate any idea. It is so spacious that it can allow anything inside.

But because its only function is freedom, it’s willing to throw everything into the fire of truth. And the only truth is love.

A clear mind is wiling to watch any belief perish.

A clear mind is even willing to throw itself into the brilliant flame of truth because it knows that there is only love.

How do we clear our mind?

It’s good to remember that there is no price for the sacrifice of ignorance and misconceptions. There is no price for ending the suffering of confusion. We can give it all back to love because love accepts everything.

In this moment, what would you throw into the flame of truth for the sake of your own freedom?

There is one simple way to ignite the flame of truth and end conflict.

Whatever comes your way – no matter what – say, THANK YOU
.

Blessings

The Magic Candle

Tuesday, March 31, 2009

Nature is the greatest teacher.

The beautiful Heath next to where I live is my trusted advisor. Devoid of a language than names and separates it simply creates in the most joyful and natural way – it gives its gifts unconditionally. There is no confusion and there are no mistakes and there is no need for rules or preconditions.

It nourishes me and shows me that to seek for anything outside of my own natural mind is a stressful way to live. It shows me that when I am disconnected from the natural flow of life I carry a harsh, unforgiving and fearful world around in my head wherever I go. It shows me that this fearful world is never real outside of my thoughts.

When this is seen then suddenly our minds become a space that can contain any idea. We discover that we can live and create with the same ease and joy as a flower opening to catch sunlight.

Open to life being something amazing and mysterious.

A few months ago my wife’s nephews, Herbie, Harvey and Zac came to stay with us. They are aged between 8-10. They are really great kids and still open to life being something amazing and mysterious.

I’ve often spoken to them about how the Heath is a great teacher - how when we stay open and allow the creative spirit of nature to flow though us, we are given wonderful gifts and insights into life.

Ask the Heath a question and receive an answer.

They asked me if we could ask the Heath a question and receive an answer. I told them that of course we could and they sat down with furrowed brows thinking of a question. And after some deliberation they agreed that we would ask the Heath,

“What is the most important thing in the world?”

I thought it was an absolutely brilliant question and I’d played no part in coming up with it. It was something that I wanted to know too!

Just to add to the excitement, they wanted to go onto the Heath really early when it was still dark. So after my wife, Esther finally got them to bed all we could hear was chatting about the pending adventure.

They woke me up at 5.30am: a time I very rarely see. I must admit I had imagined a little later but who am I to get in the way of a quest of such importance?

The Heath was veiled in a shimmering mist.

We quickly got dressed in warm clothes and headed out into the silent morning. The Heath was veiled in a shimmering mist and looked more akin to something out of King Arthur’s magical realm.

It was cold and muddy and the smell of vegetation was pungent. The mist drifted like a beautiful flowing geometry – free yet infinitely precise.

As we trekked deeper the kids diligently scanned for any evidence of an answer to our question. I had no idea what would transpire and I love being in this space of creative openness.

We spotted something strange.

Then, as we approached a small clutch of ponds we spotted something strange. It appeared as if there was a small glowing light in the middle of one of the ponds.

It was so peaceful and so deserted. I had a clear feeling that this was just fine. But I checked in with the kids to see if they were cool to go and investigate. A stupid question, they were jumping up and down with excitement.

We walked as close as we could get.

We walked as close as we could get to the edge of the pond. It was surrounded by thick mud. Close up we saw that the pond was only a few inches deep, more like a Giant puddle.

But to our amazement right in the dead centre of this circle of muddy water was a pure white candle burning brightly!

It looked as if it had just emerged from the mud and just been lit. We looked around to see if anyone was around and there were just birds and trees.

I tried to work out how anyone could have put the candle right in the middle without sinking up to their thighs in mud. And yet there were no footprints to suggest that anyone had put the candle there.

Therefore we all concluded that it had simply appeared to answer our question, “What is the most important thing in the world?”

So I asked the kids what they thought the answer was as they stared amazed at the burning candle.

Eventually, after a long silence, Zac said, “Light is the most important thing in the world.” And this seemed like the perfect answer.

We made our way back home where Esther had mugs of hot tea waiting for us and I must admit that even I had to go and think this one through.

Our natural creativity is always present.

The excitement and wonder of opening to our natural creativity is always present: it is always available. And when we allow ourselves to connect with the world in this way we get extraordinary results.

Importantly, we discover that we can create things that we never thought possible – that indeed weren’t possible from a limited way of thinking.

In the spirit of this creative adventure…

If you are in the process of creating a business…

If you are already running a business but looking for a new injection of inspiration…

If you would love to get an idea out into the world so that your gifts can work their magic…

I invite you to join myself and my co-creator of intuitive business and marketing, Damien Senn on our ‘Dream Your Marketing’ monthly creative surgeries.

The first one kicks off Saturday April 4th in central London.

In a space of open creative adventure you will learn how to market your business and ideas in a radically different way.

You will discover how it’s possible to generate amazing energy around what you’re doing without needing to engage with the stress and fear-based methods that most people think are needed to create success.

You will learn how to flow your ideas like nature so that they stir hearts and minds in a positive and imaginative way.

Most importantly, you will discover that marketing your business and ideas is in fact brilliant fun.
