Tuesday, November 11, 2008

Freedom is a very loaded word. What does it actually mean to live from the perspective of 'Freedom' - to no longer be restricted by thoughts of limitation - to touch the very core of our being and discover what is waiting to be expressed? In this Interview Audio, Steve Nobel asks me about 'Freedom' and here is what transpired...

How to create amazing results in your life – Part 1

Monday, November 10, 2008

We are moving into an era where the most creative will flourish – the tide is turning and there’s no time to waste on undervaluing yourself – nothing is impossible. Begin the process of thinking and directing your attention towards what’s most amazing for you - open your imagination so that you can flow beyond what you think is possible.

Here's a powerful principle to begin working with...

Those with the most abundant and compelling inner lives will naturally experience the most abundant and compelling outer lives. So work from the inside out.

Imagination is the workshop of your mind, and it miraculously transforms mind-energy into physical things. Its vast unexplored scope may yet contain all the infinite possibilities in reality. Imagination is a super-complex virtual reality machine in which to create. There are many descriptions.

Primarily imagination gives us the ability to place a fully sentient representation of ourselves into possible events that have not yet taken root in physical space and time – and within this we are able to experiment – to explore and importantly simulate outcomes. The term imagination comes from the latin verb imaginari, meaning "to picture oneself." In our imagination we can tell our self a story and take part in it at the same time.

However if the imagination is not stimulated the inner worlds of experience are considerably less vibrant than the outer world. When the inner potency is missing we find it difficult to make things happen. And the things that we do manifest can seem lifeless and disappointing. Even creating money and riches without the inner richness will seem empty.

Our culture tends to relegate the non-physical inner experience to a secondary position when in fact the inner realms are the fountains from which all physical reality emanates. The greater our ability to simulate desired outcomes in intense detail – intense sensual detail the higher the probability becomes of us creating what we most want. In short as we bring this simulation to life – embody it and feel it as part of our identity, our actions appear to arise from a far wiser and deeper aspect of our being – we literally feel guided – inspired to take actions that move us towards what we experience in our mind.

The more you hone your ability to super-simulate the things you most want the more mind energy will start to transform into physical energy. Often as you craft a new inner representation of yourself people begin to notice a tangible difference - a heightened energy around you – a different physicality. To me it can seem like creating a sacred blueprint for a new incarnation – a new life ready to be entered and lived with greater zest than the old life.

Stepping out of fear into the wonder of life.

Saturday, November 8, 2008

From my travelling diaries (2002).... I asked Aduviri a Peruvian Shaman aged 87 why there is so much fear and here is his reply - translated as close as possible into English... I think it is beautiful.

Enjoy :)

"The very simple knowing that you exist – that awareness of something – anything - does not belong to you – you’re not the owner of that basic awareness – it’s not something brought into existence by you or me or anyone else. Very often the slight shift from not seeing this – to seeing it – seeing that we are the stuff that comes out of the wall instead of believing that we are only the machine powered by what comes out of the wall - is labeled as some sort of realisation. But actually this small shift is the end of anyone claiming ownership of anything to do with a separate individual that can move the furniture or self observe and get a result from the apparent doing.

There's no ownership of the seeing – and as a result there is no longer anyone to have that realisation or awakening – consciousness meeting consciousness and seeing only consciousness – and then we are back to death before dying – and nothing happening... nothing-happening. What we understand as the perceiver perceives directly out of the divine – there is no middleman broking the deal of aliveness.

The human wiring has evolved to interpret reality in a particular way –along the way we’ve been all sorts of other things with different wiring and different ways to experience the world. But as it stands we are wired to have a particular experience of reality – even with all the unique human interpretations – we are all still part of the human collective. And in this way we are for the most part only aware of what doesn’t get filtered out from the immensity of reality bombarding us all the time.

So when I talk of the seeing without eyes and hearing without ears – it’s as if everything is directly perceived through the sense organ of the divine or aliveness. Suddenly we’re not in the picture trying to control it all. We’ve all had this – the dropping away of our human shell and suddenly there is just everything – and maybe for the briefest moment all the deal-making ceases to be – everything resting in stillness - cracks open.

We’ve learnt to join all the gaps together – we can no longer see what’s going on in the gaps between things. But sometimes the body and mind just relaxes – drops its guard and bang – there is the vastness – light - shinning through the gap. You can see it so clearly when people are absorbed in music or movement or just sitting sometimes there is no time and no one.

The problem is that we cannot control this – because we are not the controllers of reality – we want to have control of this but it happens when we are not looking – when we’ve popped out. And all that’s ever going on is the search for this absence that is so complete and so utterly miraculous. Everything we do – trying to become rich, a better lover, a more complete person is the acting out of this search. But that stillness and that absence is the core characteristic of everything.

Countless lives spent searching for the answer in things when all the time it’s just sitting right there - the emptiness in which everything appears and disappears. Countless lives searching for meaning in a hall of mirrors – a trick of the light. Even science is now concentrating on the space between particles instead of the particles.

But we don’t need to extend our senses to know this emptiness – the beginning is to notice the mind’s compulsion towards completion – having the explanation – thinking it can find completeness in form – in concepts.

Know that the mind exists in total freedom but total freedom is in no way dependent on the mind – so the reunion – the opening to a non personal aliveness has no need for mind, as we understand it. Mind is utterly dependent on emptiness but emptiness – consciousness – is what mind arises in and therefore is not in any way dependent on anything that arises in it. Yet mind and searching for unity is what goes on – conditioning – memories and the construction of a self from all the fragments – that’s just what goes on in consciousness and any seeing – any notion of anything beyond, or any notion about life doesn’t stop life unfolding.

People get scared when they think that they are not the director of their life – when they think that they have no choice they get scared – we all get scared – we’ve been taught to be scared of chaos or randomness. We hate living on shifting sands. But there is only shifting sands.

The fear of loosing control – or never being in control - is more to do with how today's culture has come to see freewill as the most important thing – but other ways of knowing saw freedom as never having to choose – to be free in each moment to express what came naturally was freedom – to the modern mind it is always having to have a say in what’s going to happen. That’s how we feel more solid – the tiny particles and patterns that appear to be us appear more solid when we think we are in the driving seat. But we don’t even know what our next thought is going to be. We think that because we have quantum physics and communication satellites that this way of knowing is superior to times when they had only words and nature. Of course neither way is right or wrong... (laughter)

In a way, the only thing that can shift is the ownership of what’s happening – ownership of anxiety – of needing life to pan out in a predictable way – and in this shift the mind will still be the mind – a human mind – but the shift relinquishes ownership of all the static in mind – the nonsense is just left to be nonsense – the chaos of imagination is not seen as something that needs organising – and therefore in the dream of a separate life – the dream of all this stuff going on around us - has nothing to form around – and so this may reflect in the characteristic or it may not – anything can happen.

But the fact always remains that no matter what happens – no matter what arises or seems not to arise in any moment, consciousness – vastness – unity is all we are anyway. So everyone we meet and everything we encounter is only consciousness at play – aliveness is consciousness at play – and all the things that we thought were somehow right or wrong – good or bad – all our judgments and all our striving has no destination because it cannot move outside of what is always the case - we are consciousness at play - freedom – that’s all there is. Or put another way there is not a single being that is not meditating – there is only meditation no matter what arises. All noise is just silence so whatever you think you hear is just silence and whatever you think you see is just emptiness so what we think of as the ultimate in meditation is already the case for everyone regardless of how angry or how unstill they may appear to be."

May these words bring you closer to the core of wonder... Davide

A new path to 'Success' - easy and fun

Friday, November 7, 2008

The first thing we look at is how to define success so that it works for you and then we use this foundation to explore ten basic principles. Now although I take time to explain each principle thoroughly they are all very simple and importantly easy to put into practice. You will likely encounter things that you know – things that are obvious, but you’ve ignored up until now. Don’t worry we all have a tendency to look for short cuts or search for tricks and in the process miss what’s right there in front of us – it’s human nature. So really the first secret is that there are no secrets everything is open – they only appear to be hidden but in the end we discover they are open secrets. They are there for no other reason than to help us create extraordinary lives – that’s actually why everything is here – there is no other reason – all our circumstances – the situations – the people we encounter are there to help us find our deepest truth and live it…

The idea is to have fun – to play – to flow as you peel away layers of ideas – thoughts that no longer serve you and move towards a new and version of who you are – the life that’s in tune with your true spirit.

The world is awash with opportunities to experience extraordinary things – it’s awash with money and with people that can help us achieve what we want. And yet why do we struggle so much and why do so many people return to providence with their gifts still intact – unexplored - never given?

The answer is startlingly simple and a little shocking. Basically we’ve been taught to look in the wrong places and we’ve never been properly instructed on how to create the conditions – the environments - that naturally attract the best that life has to offer. Also we’ve never been told that even seemingly dire situations can be cracked open to reveal miracles when we know how to stay present and ask the right questions.

Yes – I know it seems too good to be true – but I invite you put that thought to one side for the time we’re about to spend together. And as you begin to integrate the principles that I’m about to share, you may discover that hovering doubt no longer has anywhere to make itself comfortable inside your being.

In a moment I’m going to offer up a clear definition of what ‘Success’ actually is so that you can immediately begin working with something charged with vitality and feel it’s presence in your life. This definition is designed to bring you directly into contact with your own personal power and creativity – with you own sense of intelligence and vision. However I leave it open for you to experiment with until the presence – the stream of success energy speaks directly to you.

Most importantly establishing a positive, dynamic and clear definition of success will give you the fertile soil in which to plant your dreams and delight in their growth. Defining success so that it ignites the power of your thoughts and feelings to create meaningful and joyful actions is the first step because although we’re bombarded by so-called success from all angles, the success we’re served up is actually a recipe for punishment and disconnection from our true self. Punishment because of the ways in which we’ve been taught to obtain it, such as relentless hard work, self judgement and obsessive focus on the external - disconnection because of the obsession with the future and the limitation of experiences that truly nourish our existence. Under these conditions success is an alien force that takes possession of our soul and feeds on the beauty that naturally flows through our being. That’s why reaching so many of these pre rendered or imposed definitions of success can often feel more like loosing than winning. They have nothing to do with the shape our soul wishes to express. And as we explore the deepest truth of success we will see this doesn’t mean that things such as wealth and possessions are not part of the equation – but instead they manifest as the by-products of success not the end result. With clarity we stop searching for love and validation in things that have no capacity to love or nurture us. You will discover that as soon as these demands are released you will have a greater abundance of energy and the ability to sharpen you focus.

In our culture most people spend their entire lives trying to achieve someone else’s idea of success. If left un investigated we can remain trapped in a set of beliefs that constantly place our attention on fear, struggle and a sense of lack and self-deprecation. And yet when we take the time to investigate it’s often shocking to discover that what we’ve been trying to achieve has little or nothing to do with our own being – our own soul. It can be a painful realisation. Trying to achieve someone else’s ideas of success is normally a path of confusion, conflict and stress. And it’s also why arriving at a level of so-called success can feel more like losing than winning.

It’s important to understand that whenever you are focused on something that isn’t true for you, struggle and fear - both internally and externally – will always be present.

The word ‘Success’ is so misused. And yet it only takes a small shift to infuse it with magic. It only takes a little creative movement to drain away all the fear and stress.

Here’s a powerful way to make that shift…

Success is a verb rather than a description. Let’s say that success is actually a holistic process – an unfolding – a fluidity - that peels away layer upon layer of discomfort, punishment and illusion. Success in its most radiant form is a process of action, healing, inspiration and integration, leading directly to wonder. Wonder for the simple reason that a life lived without ever touching wonder is hard and unforgiving.

When success becomes the path home something magical happens: we increasingly experience life as a blessing. We suddenly drop the conditions that punish us and allow the miracles contained in every situation to be revealed. We can then use what’s revealed to experience more of life – more of who you naturally are. This may include money or status or bringing inspiring ideas to life. It may include sharing or working from a very self-contained perspective. But most importantly it’s your pathway to wonder, self-love and healing. Wealth and possessions are always seen as the by-products of success not the destination therefore as you journey ever deeper into wonder there is no limit to what you may attract.

Using this definition as the source - the fountain from which your success flows – it’s seen that every so-called problem, every setback and every obstacle is sacred because they carry the seeds of your greatness.

When we understand that success is something living, something flexible and something rhythmical a whole new realm of adventure and possibility becomes available.

There is no more waiting for the right moment to arrive. Approaching life from this perspective is actually the true definition of creativity because creativity is imagination, and imagination is hardwired into the very core of our humanity.

As we look at success from this perspective we come to understand that success is first and foremost an energetic game. The right moment for your success is now – it always has been!
